Burstcoin Mining Blog(Step 1)

Hello everyone, in this post I will show the first step of POC mining for burstcoin.

Step 1) Buying the Harddrives

Figuring out which hard drives(hdd) are good for mining can be tough. In all honesty, the power bill is so cheap for Burstcoin mining that it’s good to use whatever extra hdd you have lying around. A good idea if you want to get mining ASAP is to buy a reasonably big SSD as a startup hdd you can plot to and move your plots to slower drives automatically(more on that later). To save a pretty penny you can go ahead and buy the cheaper externals and either use them with usb 3.0, or to save even more power take them apart and make them internal drives. For certain reasons unknown to the public(probably warranty lengths), internal hdd are quite a bit more expensive than external. Also note, buying SSD drives make plotting waaaay faster, and search speeds are higher, but the ROI is like 3 years(or way longer), and by then your drives will probably be worn out.

Note: try to keep to the hdd price rule--- try to buy 1tb for or less than $25

Buying 1 7200 rpm 8tb hdd might be a good idea to increase plot times as well as your mining search speed is slightly faster with higher RPM HDD.
