SHA-256 VS SCRYPT MINING

in #bitcoin7 years ago

I am new here in Steemit, and i hope to receive a nice welcome,

i thought to start my experience here with sharing my fresh last experience on Hashflare Cloud Mining website, maybe my story will be and advice for some or i might get some advises from Experts.

In the beginning of my subscription i started to min with Scrypt which mine for litecoin and then some how the website exchange it and pays it with Bitcoin, however, that choice was based on the maintenance fees, since the maintenance fees on Hashflare is as per the site FAQ today as follow:

The MEF is linear and equals 0.0035 USD per every 10 GH/s of SHA-256 and 0.01 USD per every 1 MH/s of Scrypt per day. Ethereum contracts are not subject to any fees.

And at the time i am writing this Story the Revenue of 10GH/s of SHA-256 is about 0.000003 BTC (Equal to 0.0075 USD as per today btc to usd rates) considering Bitcoin exchange rates are heigh today.

And at the time i am writing this Story the Revenue of 1MH/s of Scrypt is about 0.000016 BTC (Equal to 0.04 USD as per today btc to usd rates) considering Bitcoin exchange rates are high today.

Conclusions:

SHA-256 (Revenue 0.0075USD - MEF 0.0035USD = 0.004 USD) this means that the maintenance fees are almost 50% as per today rates of BTC/USD, i find this okay for long investment if btc was on Sigway, which isn't and hopefully it will increase, but logic investment wont risk it, which is makes me frustrated to see people are crazy about SHA-256.

Now Scrypt Math is like this:

(Revenue 0.04USD - MEF 0.01USD = 0.03 USD) this means maintenance fees are about 25% today, which was a lot less two days ago.

This made it clear for me that i should work with scrypt.

Now the only confusion i have about scrypt that i am trying to figure out but didn't find any useful information about it anywhere is the Drop of Scrypt revenue in my account, i don't know if it was pools problem or increasing of difficulty on litecoin or what so ever.

for the time being i am changing the pools everyday to find out if there is a problem with the pools.

if anyone knows the best pools for Litecoin mining on hashflare i would appreciate the information.

but anyhow i am going to stick with Scrypt for major investment and i will invest some amounts in SHA-256, just in case litecoin was not following the race of Value increasing.

I had the same Q but want to mine BTC on hashflare - is the answer the same?? I.e. Scrypt mining more cost effective? Good post - will upvote and follow!

I am working with Hashflare as well and am currently pondering the same query...?

Thanks a lot.

it took a while to get my initial investment with SHA-256, should i still move to Scrypt?
