Steemit and Bitcoins etc. what now?

been wondering for many months now.
What is the future for cryptocoins.?
IS there a future for cryptocoins?
Can it really always be independent, or will some government or major institute take over control.
more and more governments are putting up rules and laws against the free anonymous trading.
As i see it, cryptocoins, will either wither and die.
or become every mans tool for trade, because of the small transaction fees.
but when will that happen?
years after the last Bitcoin is mined?
or sooner?
