We have a debt problem, how do you fix a debt problem, you get into more debt of course!

Said no one ever...

You get out of a debt problem by stopping deficit spending.

If that were to happen the US would have to spend a lot less and or take in a bunch more revenue via taxes.

Neither will work if you already have a massive debt burden and the rest of the world suddenly decides they don't like the dollar anymore...

We are almost to that point.
