Ledger Nano S Unboxing
Welcome, Steemians.
I have recently decided to further secure my cryptocurrencies by purchasing a hardware wallet. I decided to purchase a Ledger Nano S since it supports multiple cryptocurrencies. It currently supports bitcoin, ethereum (and all other ERC20 Tokens), litecoin, dogecoin(WOW), Zcash, dash, stratis, and ripple. I decided to make my purchase on Crypto HW Wallet since it was the only site I could find that had them in stock. I placed my order and the anticipation ensued. After about one week, it happened...
It finally arrived!
There it is, in all its glory. I would finally be able to further secure my cryptocurrency. What a good feeling it was. I was so excited that I couldn't help but make this post unboxing this beautiful device.
Alright, I know you're probably excited too. Let's open it.
Obligatory shot of the back side of the box.
Admit it, we all love that feeling of pulling the plastic off a shiny new device. I know I do. When you get done enjoying that feeling and finally open the box, this is what you get.
Let's take a closer look at the welcome packet. Surely there's some good shit in there.
And there is! We have a notice about security and a nifty little sheet to write down your wallet recovery phrase.
Diving a bit further into the box, we have a lanyard, a key chain, and a standard micro usb cable. Neat.
Now to get this bad boy set up and get my crypto off the Jaxx Mobile Wallet. I feel a lot better now.
There you have it. If you ever wondered what it was like to open a Ledger Nano S, you're welcome.
Seriously though, thanks for reading. If you have questions about how to set it up or anything else, feel free to drop a comment.
Peace out, guys.
I like how small it is. It can be carried in a pocket.
I have it on my Keychain currently. I love the sleek design.
Very nice! Thanks for sharing.
Thanks for reading.
The future credit card !
Exactly! I definitely recommend getting one if you have more than a small amount of crypto. Thanks for the comment!.
I believe "Trezor" wallets are the best, have you tried them before? Can you do an objective comparison based on user-friendliness,security& other features?
Unfortunately I don't have a comparison. Maybe one day soon I can purchase one and do a comparison post. Thanks for the suggestion.
This was a good post and i resteemed cause of it. This is what everyone needs to do with there btc if people havent already learned , then teach yourself. Being able to controlyoure private keys is the KEY!
Thanks for the resteem! Trying to spread awareness for the greater good.
Your welcome I went ahead and followed you as well.
I did the same. I hope you enjoy future posts and look forward to yours.
Looking forward to a review on how it works and how practical it is day to day.. Upvoted and followed!
I'm glad someone mentioned this! I'm definitely going to do a review of day to day use. I'll have it out in a day or so. Followed you as well. Thanks!
Congrats....did you analyze trezor also ... it is equally good and a trusted brand for many years
I checked out the trezor, but I really liked the design and price point of the ledger nano s. Maybe one day I'll get one and do an unboxing post for it. Thanks for the comment.
The Ledger Nano S is great. I've used one for a while, and it feels a little awkward at first, but the satisfaction of owning your own wallet is immense.
A little tip: The memory is pretty small. You can delete the apps for the coins (and add them back later) without losing coins.
I'm glad I'm not the only person that feels the awkwardness. I appreciate the tip! That's awesome. Thanks!
😎 Nice post just one question why you preferred this device rather than the Trezor? 🤔
I chose this device because of multi currency support and the price point mainly. Hopefully one day I can afford to do Ana unboxing if the Trezor as well.
Thanks, for your answer, I want to buy one of those, for me the Trezor is more secure, well more time on the market, and maybe more safe than a Cold encripted storage. THANKS AGAIN
