I am not sure any coin would ever overtake Bitcoin, because the factors of doing that is near impossible as of the moment.
One factor is the Bitcoin name, as it is also the reason why Bitcoin Cash is getting the attention because it also shares its name. The Bitcoin brand name also establishes this familiarity, as it is the most popular cryptocurrency.
Second factor is mass adoption. Not all payment centers are integrated with Bitcoin cash and other altcoins.

As to my strategy, Im waiting it out till it gets stable. I converted all my coins to fiat just to be safe and avoid losses.
