People are going crazy over Bitcoin. At the beginning of 2017, the price of bitcoin was about $800 and today it's worth about $14,000 (although by the time you read this it's value will probably have changed again). For a long time, Bitcoin had a bad reputation due to it's being used in criminal activity online. But eventually, mainstream society began to see it's potential. Today there are many retailers and service providers that let customers pay with Bitcoin. Here are some ways to use it to fund your next adventure.

How to pay for flights with Bitcoin

One of the first travel agencies to ever accept Bitcoin was CheapAir.com. Destinia.com also accepts Bitcoin payments now.

A few other airlines that accept the digital currency include airBaltic (based in Latvia), Delta, and Southwest Airlines. Peach Aviation (based in Japan) will begin accepting Bitcoin for some of its flights by the end of 2017.

There is also an online gift card store called eGifter.com that will let you buy gift cards for several airlines.

Need a place to stay? Or a great restaurant to eat at?

Destinia and CheapAir will both take Bitcoin when you pay for your hotel bookings. Another gift card seller, Gyft.com, allows people to purchase gift cards for Hotels.com.

Of course, getting to your destination is important but you're not just going to sit around the whole time, right? You're going to need to eat and buy souvenirs for all your jealous friends back home. So when you get where you're going you'll need to find places that accept Bitcoin. Fortunately, you can use CoinMap to find stores and restaurants that accept Bitcoin payments.

It's wonderful to see the world embracing Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. Hopefully, even more companies will accept Bitcoin in the future.
