A happy bitcoin storysteemCreated with Sketch.

The other day something very happy occurred to me. I ran into a fellow poker player. He is a used car sales man and we know each other from the poker room. It's not like we are close friends but we tend to talk when we see each other in the poker room.

Back when bitcoin traded at $1400

Earlier this year while playing poker the bitcoin discussion came up. This is something to likely occur to anyone that happens to sit at a poker table with me :-).

Probably because he respects me as a player he seemed to listen to me. Usually I do try to hammer two points: Firstly Bitcoin is here to change everything in a profound way and may go all the way into the million $ evaluation. And Secondly this shit is wild, volatile and 50% crashes happen every other month and 70-80% crashes happen regularly because we constantly are in a bubbles.

Earlier this year I used the bubbles to predict that btc may go toward 2-10k this year in a video in 2017 alone. I shared this with my friend and he watched it.

The result was he bought some bitcoin.

Of course after he bought some, the price crashed. From $1400 to $900 is quite big hit, if you are used to stocks or cash.

Wife: Why do you listen to a gambler

And his wife freaked out and started yelling at him. I remember seeing him in the poker room and telling me that he had bought some and is stuck a bit. I told him to stay and wait for the price to go back up. I had no idea he had run into issues with his wife because of me.

He did not sell.

How much did you buy?

The other day we met again in the poker room. He looked at me and said. "You must be rich now."

"Umm.. what are you talking about" I mumbled .

"The bitcoin price!"

I explained that I clearly do not feel rich just yet, though very much richer and happier. Then I remembered that he told me he had bought some earlier in the year and asked: "Did you not buy some"

"Yes."

"Do you still have them?"

"Yes."

"How much did you buy?"

"5 bitcoins" he said with a really big grin on his face.

Holy shit I thought. That is a lot of cheese for a used car sales man that likes to play $100 tournaments for fun.

Happiness!

I grabbed his shoulders and shook him and around like a little kid. "That's like 25K profit." I whispered in his ear.

"I know" he said with a huge grin on his face.

I was really happy because I noticed that I may have had a little impact on this persons life. It was really funny how I was quite emotional about his money, when the recent rise has also caused my portfolio to gain some strength. But somehow impacting other people has a different kind of meaning.

Anyway that was a great day for me and I thought I would share.

I have certainly also seen many poker folks lose some money by investing into ICOs just as they started to tumble and not holding bitcoin because they are too boring.

Not everybody is making a killing and as such it is important to cherish the successes that do happen.

Have you ever made an impact on someone in crypto? Would love to hear your stories also.

At the beginning of this year, I invested $ 40 for the first time, of which I made 70 BTC for 8 months, instinct and gambling courage brought me to the point. I bought more BTC over 15 and plus LTC and some other currencies. Honestly, this income has become boring to me, and I am trying to find an interest in writing texts and poems on steemit. Thanks for great post @knircky

How did you make 70 BTC from $ 40? It is unbelievable. @dobartim

First I made from 40$ - 20 000$ on Zilbercoin, second investment is Dimecoin - that it is. Now i make one investment in package with 0.72 btc

Sir @dobartim I am already registered at bitconnect.co but I did not invest anything. I need to your guidance. How can I contact you? Do you use discord?

No, this is my fb https://www.facebook.com/goran.stankovic.3720. bitconnect
It's not 100% safe, it's risky, but I love the risks because it can be for the most.

I know sir it's not 100% safe but there are my some confusions in my mind. I want to ask you something.

It is really a great story, I resteemed it)

That is a great story. I can only imagine the grin on his face when he said he held his bitcoins and didn’t sell.

I met a gentleman in his 70’s this past year and started talking to him about crypto. He listened to me and bought bitcoin and some other crypto.

For someone unsure about his social security, he is excited to see what the possibilities are in the next few years.

Recognising this, i finally managed to convince my brother to get some bitcoin this July, more than doubled already. Still, it is amazing how many are wanting but afraid, how many don't know about it, it is still in infant shoes, amazing but true.

Great post! His wife must be happy now, BTC is highly volatile but if you keep believing in the project long term you understand the usd price is irrelevant, it is a game changer like having a couple of aces in poker 😁

Great post my friend.
I am proud to see your work.

Your post is very interesting.
also thanks for sharing the video with us.

I would gladly sit with you at the poker table) In what format do you play? Your story is official to me. My husband also advised his friend to buy bitcoins just before his big fall. His wife also cursed us) But now this friend bought a house. By the way, I was such a wife who did not understand the investments in bubbles a year ago)
