Bitcoin Bug Squashes Gold Bug

in #bitcoin9 years ago

Two months ago at the Nexus Conference in Aspen, Max Keiser debated Peter Schiff on the merits of bitcoin versus gold. This was way, way back when bitcoin was at a mere $3,000 or so. ;)

I moderated.

Check it out.

Great you guys stopped powering down, good decision!

Next, why not interview @ned about SMT's being built for the Steem blockchain?

That would be a great interview, I'm sure!

Yeh good suggestion!

Already seen @keiserreport's Max & Stacy :)

The key moment of this clash was when Max asked Peter how did his gold helped to Puertoricans… priceless!

ROTFLMAO !!!!

LOVE Max and Peter !!!!
reposted on FB and resteemed.

Thanx for the post.

Thanks, buddy!

I have to ask,,,,, are you guys aware of the Resource Based Economy movement with things like the "Venus Project"? And if you are aware, how do you perceive the move towards such a system?

Of course (as the last video starts out with),,, you might be out of a JOB in such a system (although that could be a GREAT thing based on one's perspective- aka Freedom Mindset)

Anxious for your response!

I've followed Peter for a long time. But man did he miss the Bitcoin thing. Especially since he had people on his old Radio show when it was less than $20 telling him how exciting it was. Think the guy is in denial because he has had to double down so much.

ROTFLMAO --
yes (and a little"no")
Max's point about there being an underlying tech (aka Blockchain) is a HUGELY valid point for "platforms" like Ethereum (or soon to be EOS).... But Peter's point that there is "NO LIMIT" to the number of different coins that can be created..... as is already an obvious point when when looks at the availability of Alt Coins (many of which are just stupid pump and dump schemes) is also valid.

Bitcoin does have the advantage say of VHS over Betamax,,,, even though the latter was better tech, early adoption of the inferior system meant people were less willing to upgrade to the better format. This may happen again,,, if "HashGraph" ever decides to release a "public graph", or perhaps it even happens with a lack of adoption of EOS over ETH.......

Peter is definitely wrong saying that crypto has no place,,, he is definitely missing the decentralization and Freedom aspects of this tech,,,,,,, ALTHOUGH many coin developers keep seeking ways to make crypto compatible with fiat,,, when really we should ONLY be creating a BETTER and ALTERNATIVE system that has no connections and reliance on FIATS.

I feel like you guys weren't very respectful to Peter.

It's 2-on-1 more than you're a "moderator" per se, and Max basically just yells at him and isn't even trying to have a legit debate.

Somehow Peter comes out of this as the reasonable person despite being totally wrong about Bitcoin. The man is sharp.
