RE: Did Satoshi Nakamoto delete his bitcoins?

in #bitcoin7 years ago

if we would be able to provide his BTC address and check the "history", we might be able to answer that.
Is that even possible, to "delete" BTCs from the block-chain?

Sort:

Well if the wallet was destroyed, they could not be recovered!

you mean, the private key was "destroyed"? Well, we still should be able to see the tokens on the blockchain.

correct. They will just not be recoverable at that point.

If this is true:
From the 1814400 BTC awarded, 1148800 BTC has never been spent (63%) - should be the amount of BTC Satoshi mined.

THis is a decent amount of BTCs :)

On other hand, its still dangerous to have that many BTCs possible accessible by a single entity. Dont want to think about the price drop, if he would suddenly "recovered" his private keys :)

We actually know some of his addresses :), they were the first ones mined :P
