Fundación Ethereum offers millions of dollars in subsidies to provide solutions to scalability

Vitalik Buterin announced a series of non-profit subsidy programs which will promote a series of studies and investigations to provide solutions to the scalability problems presented by the Blockchain technology.

The announcement was made through an entry in the official blog of the foundation, in the text Buterin says that the problems of scalability are the biggest technical challenges presented by the Blockchain technology, and that it must be solved so that those applications that are based on this technology can be adopted en masse. The mention of this mishap also comes in connection with the fact that the Ethereum network is close to reaching one million transactions per day.

The Ethereum foundation will launch two specialized programs that will contribute to this work. To accomplish this, between USD $ 50,000 and one million dollars will be allocated to finance these investigations.

The programs will be focused on two branches, the first will seek to attack the "sharding" in order to maintain the greatest number of security and decentralization properties at a lower cost of nodes to confirm each transaction, in this way more transactions can be carried out in one determined time.

The second one will create layer 2 protocols which will send the most transactions out of the block chain, something very similar to what Red Lighting does with Bitcoin, that is, it interacts with the Blockchain only when it has to enter or exit the system and only when the network is under attack.

With regard to payments, Buterin made it clear that these would be much higher than the last ones that have been delivered, which also raises the expectations that have towards the quality indexes. Buterin is looking for teams that have experience in the Ethereum space and Blockchain technology or experience in the fields of design of mechanisms, distributed systems or cryptography.
