Bitcoin price is manipulated so badly and the same is happening with every cryptocurrency. The one who cam hold and know to buy in dip survieves.

Small crypto I do think a lot of research before investing is required, then hold and watch, roller coaster rides have only started with new technology.

Actually we never can tell if the price was manipulated or not but let it be known that most people in the cryptocurrency space today are on board because they got informed about the profit in the system and how they can generate such profits.
But unfortunately times changed and things might seem negative to a lot of newbies

Truth will always come out eventually, when blockchain technology is being investigated as a way forward for FinTech I can see many investigations taking place. Sadly many got caught in a web of deceit at the time @airsoftman

There was so much dodgy stuff going on with tether towards the end of last year. Even once people had raised the alarm about what they were doing, they continued to "print" more tether and release it to prop up the bitcoin price. I made the mistake of hodling through the entire pump and not selling. My loss I guess. However, I do think that it will still recover a fair bit this year.

Interesting morning read here @gholsa https://www.newsbtc.com/2018/06/16/odd-coincidences-bitcoins-price-mirrors-historical-technical-analysis/

Released a little during the crazy hike, holding the little I have since I really feel that this change in finance is a very good move, actually long overdue!

Shocking! I agree with the approach that says, 'If it sounds too good to be true, it is too good to be true.'
I do not think cryptocurrencies as a concept is very different from an economy based on the value of gold (a metal with little or no practical use) and the activity within an economy (the more activity the greater the value). The important difference is the decentralization but we may have an Animal Farm situation, with old patterns repeating, just with new names and faces.

The concern for me is with corporate, then governments all wanting their own blockchain technology, a few good systems should be developed first in an open market system.

White collared always pump and dump destroying, to manipulate, it has happened over the ages. When Bitcoin Futures was being spoken of I started feeling uncomfortable with certain aspects discussed at the time, then Tether arrived making more waves, greed is not what is called for!

I have little background on bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies until now i am still in hunger for more info. But knowing that bitcoin is manipulated for some sort of reasons saddned me. I hope it wont happen in the future.

Good to read a little every day and keep up with what is happening in the markets, support only what you trust @rubelynmacion and have fun learning, greed always upsets everyone.

Hi @joanstewart! I think that BTC eventhough alongside with the rest of the Cryptocurrencies is not at the best right now, it is a matter of another few months before the prices go up. There might be kind of speculations by the end of 2017, but the bright future is just ahead. There are some predictions it will hit 100 000 $ by the end of 2019, beginning of 2020, and I really think it is for sure to happen.

With regards,

Yani

Hello Yani, yes I am a firm believer BTC will bounce back over the next couple of years, there are cryptocurrencies that are offering something worthwhile to the world worth looking into.

Keep supporting those I trust and know for now, time will reveal which will get support and which will fall away.

For every winner there is a loser, in any market. There were a TON of losers during the spike, but in truth, ONLY if you cashed out lower than you bought. I didn't buy anything then, but did have an awesome run at Nicehash while it lasted. Now I'm back to mining SUP full time.

That market run up had FOMO all over it. It is encouraging though as it shows there is a demand for coin in general.

Never been one to buy and sell on a whim @artisane after researching, normally invest a little and wait and watch, yes I am a supporter of SUP as well and have been for some time, great community!

Fear of missing out is a powerful emotion, and while past behavior can't predict future behavior, it is tempting to hope and bank on it happening at least one more time... it's quite the burn wound though when it comes crashing down

Technology is holding, problem is people creating havoc, I see no reason why those who bought, if patient, won't reap the rewards eventually @motordrive

no matter what happen on the value of cryptocurrencies. I will still hodl on to it.

Sure is a game of patience, but then gold and silver do the same, up's and down's.
