Goodbye to BITCOIN

Interesting point of view on reddit about bitcoin losing its place as the main transactor between fiat and other cryptocurrencies.

Very possible that ripples plan all along is to take over bitcoins role in the cryptocurrency industry where as of now every time we want to invest in any other crypto we need to buy bitcoin and trade into others. Outside of sending your $ directly to an exchange, and even then you first need to buy bitcoin in order to exchange it for others..
Bitcoin is raking in millions of dollars daily from this alone.
Ripple can and i think will provide the same function for 1/10th the cost and instead of it taking an hour or more, ripple can do it in a few seconds!
There is no doubt in my mind ripple is going to do exactly this because they just stated they want to provide a universal platform where any currency can be used..
People seem to confuse this in thinking that if ripple accepts other cryptos on its platform then xrp wont have any value because banks and people will just use their own.
Wrong! Xrp will provide a perfect store of value, and can handle all transactions with ease.. resulting in non stop appreciation for xrp.
Xrp will be worth far more than i ever thought possible, knowing what the future holds!

Very interesting, thanks for posting - Voted & following!

I liked the idea of Ripple since 2 years ago, still own about 1k Ripples. Since they are destroyed on use, their value will only increase. I quite like Waves as well. It has a lot of potential https://wavesplatform.com/

Same here, waves is interesting. Pretty sure it has a good future

Should add bitcoin wont go away as an investment and will likely continue to gain long term.. but i think its going to lose its place in transacting

However unlikely it might seem, I'm aiming at Bitcoin's crown with the cryptocurrency I'm trying to create :D
It's a long shot, but not impossible. Check out VialCoin.com if you like

I wonder how many crypto exchanges are currently accepting Fiat -> XRP? Until that becomes commonplace (e.g. > ~20%) I think the notion of BTC losing its place as a crypto gateway drug may be a little bit pre-mature.

You might be right, but you might be wrong.
Might just be worth holding on to some xrp over the coming weeks..........

I know gatehub and bitstamp accept fiat/xrp. This space is still very new! I doubt anybody can really predict how the crypto-market will look like in 20 years for example.
