Bitcoin Adoption Grows in Kampala Uganda Story by Bitcoin.com, Aljazeera and Washington Post
I woke up to great news today of how Bitcoin adoption is growing in my country Uganda.

I am sure if it were you in this hard times(of FUD) you would also be happy just as i was.
Let me quote some parts from the story which you can read here
The report describes many Ugandan bitcoin adopters as professionals seeking a supplementary income, in addition to jobless millennials seeking a means to escape a life of minimal economic opportunity.
The situation in the country in regards to jobs is really appalling! There are no jobs as is everywhere! It is good my fellow countrymen have woken up to this bitcoin or crypto opportunity.
I have loved how many people are getting into the crypto space like as in the article, there is a restaurant owner who accepts bitcoin payments!!! I will definitely trace this restaurant and try out my first real life transaction(of buying food with Btc).
There was also a person who prefers buying bitcoin to land. Here in Uganda, land is an investment many people treasure most.I also remember there was a time I had a discussion with friends of what to choose from land and btw(there is a way we never got to a conclusion!).
I have attended some of the seminars orgainised by one the people mentioned in the article and it involves a bitcoin mining venture that involves pooling a few for mining and profits are sent to my account.
There is a big number of people who are skeptic to such kind of businesses as many here have lost money in such online businesses. It is the same challenge i face when promoting Steemit(people fear online things due to bad previous experiences).
It is also sad to note that people are introduced to bitcoin the wrong way.Why do i say the wrong way? Almost all the people promoting bitcoin here have mlm schemes they promote! These are mostly bitcoin mining mlm schemes. This makes people think this is how Bitcoin works or is set up.
People are given no option to learn bitcoin as a currency and they don't need to join any mining scheme to make money.I am not against mining schemes though.People should be given the power to buy and may be hold their bitcoins. The idea of mlm also discourages people from adopting bitcoin as they think it's like this other mlm things of bringing people(as is literally said here in Uganda!).
I thank the promoters though for spreading the gospel of bitcoin and crypto though. If more people know about bitcoin, the easier it will be for us to promote Steemit.
These guys are paving for us a way to promote and spread Steemit.
