Coinbase to add BCH support

I received an email from Coinbase this morning which stated:

Over the last several days, we’ve examined all of the relevant issues and have decided to work on adding support for bitcoin cash for Coinbase customers.

I have read many people in comments betting that BCH will drop to zero. As more and more support for BCH grows, will that prediction become more and more unlikely?
