some curiosities about the bitcoin core project, are some collages based on years of project study on various media, writing, videos and meet ups

1º) The name of project:

contrary to what most people say, the project is not just called "bitcoin", but yes:

There are some mistakes, besides being the asset itself, bitcoin is also the payment network itself.

2º) The Project Origins

the Project idealized in an article in 2008, but the Pre-Alpha version was only available in 01/2009. This includes mining the first block in the history of the Bitcoin core, the Genesis Block.

3º) Total Number Maex of Coins not exactly 21 million:

The block genesis gave the sataoshi 50 BTC of reward, then every 4 years the reward value decreases by half.
the current value of the reward are 12.5 BTC.
In 2113 will be 1 BTC the value of the reward.

4º) BItcoin is coin of the Future?


in fact is FUTURE is the name of the alpha version of Bitcoin.

the ALFA version (codename FUTURE) will never be released, but it has the newest features of the "bitcoin core" (project name in github)

5º) Does bitcoin only work on the internet? Right?


That would be the standard for everything online right? But in the case of Bitcoin for the salvation of mankind, the company Blockstream has a group of satellites in earth orbit, running fullnode on Bitcoin core.
