The Cash App offered by Square, which allows users to buy and sell Bitcoin, has supplanted PayPal's position as the most popular app in the finance category on the US Google Play Store, CCN reported.
According to CCN, Square has seen tremendous revenue and profit growth in 2018 due to an increasing number of Bitcoin trades carried out by Cash App users.
In March this year, Square CEO Jack Dorsey told The Times:
"The world ultimately will have a single currency, the internet will have a single currency. I personally believe that it will be bitcoin."
