Jaxx is a free, popular wallet solution. Just go to their site, download the appropriate version for your computer or mobile device, and install it. Jaxx supports a variety of popular cryptocurrencies including, but not limited to: bitcoin, ethereum, ethereum classic, dash, litecoin, zcash and more.

After you've installed it, you can can select Express or Custom setup. I recommend the Custom, it's only a few steps, and it requires you to set the backup/recovery passphrase that you will need if you should lose access to your wallet. This is super important because your wallet is, well, your wallet. You don't want to lose access to it and, if you do, you can recover it with the passphrase.

Jaxx Setup

  1. Download Jaxx Wallet from jaxx.io
  2. Install Jaxx
  3. Open Jaxx.exe
  4. Select "Create New Wallet"
  5. Select "Custom" option
  6. Select BTC for bitcoin - and any other cryptocurrencies you want to store. (They can be added later too.)
  7. Select USD for US Dollars (or your fiat currency of choice)
  8. Check "Yes I understand how Jaxx backup works" to create a wallet backup
  9. Write down the 12 word passphrase that is generated and keep it in a safe place. - DO NOT LOSE THIS - EVER!. You will need it to access your wallet later.
  10. Enter the passphrase to confirm that you got it right and continue.
  11. Select and confirm a PIN, if desired. *Highly recommended
  12. Click on BTC letters/icon at the top of Jaxx, if needed, to display your BTC address
  13. Click the copy icon next to the long line of letters and numbers to copy your BTC address to the clipboard.
  14. Save your bitcoin address in a safe place too!

  15. EDIT: Since I cannot delete the original post, I have removed the questionable mining content until I can independently verify its veracity. Apologies if it contained misinformation. Jaxx is solid tho. :)

I hope you're not deliberately promoting a scamsite/ponzi with this post. When you google 'startminer':

And

I have removed the questionable startminer content and rededicated the post solely to installing Jaxx, so we should be good to go now. Let me know if you have any other questions, and thanks again for catching what may have been a big oversight by me.

I hope I am not - I just found the site and it seems to be working, though I haven't mined enough to try to redeem anything. It just seemed like a good thing to do with my idle PCs. Thanks for sharing the links, I'll read them later today and follow up.

FWIW - I have not put a penny into this am expecting my first mining payout in a few days, so I'll be able to write a more informed post at that time. If I don't get paid as expected, I'll delete this post, as I certainly do not want to promote a ponzi or anything less than legit.

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Jaxx is a fucking rip off. And people need to start reporting these thieves to the better business bureau in Ontario.
