What are ICOs and Why Should I Invest in Them?
ICOs or Initial Coin Offerings are the newest way of raising funds for a company.
Similar to an IPO (initial public offering) where you're buying stock in a company, but instead of stock, you are investing in their crypto tokens, which will hopefully be a part of the business.
For example, the Wild Crypto ICO, which is still ongoing, is going to use those tokens to let players play their online games and lottery. You have to buy their tokens to play.
Not all ICOs are like this, and you should run from most ICOs that offer a token simply for the purpose of raising money -- they're very likely just scams.
If you do a search on the costs of running your own IPO, you will see that you have to go through the Banks, and that they charge something like 60% of the income.
ICOs break that monopoly, and allow us to invest in great potential ideas which can make the economy grow. Banks have been stifling that with the help of government, and now there's a new way to let new ideas make it to the world.
Now, whereas all that sounds great for the overall economy, what does that mean for you?
Well, whereas you can just buy and hold Bitcoin which should hit $13,000, given that Bitcoin is at around $4,000 today, you would stand to make 3x gains with that strategy.
And that's a lot more than my 401(k) is making right now! :(
But, the appeal of good ICOs is that you stand to potentially make 22x gains (2000 tokens to 1 ETH) with the aforementioned WILD crypto ICO.
So, it's always good to diversify your investments. Cryptos are no different. You can throw a small amount and still get big gains, so for the older generations, this is KEY. This could be the key to saving their retirement. You see a lot of people back to work at McDonalds and Starbucks instead of enjoying their retirement.
Negative, zero and near zero interest rates are responsible. The Central Banks and the governments are not helping us. Only their Big Bank and Big Corporation friends.
Cryptos are our way out. ICOs are just another strategy. Don't throw all your pennies into them, because they're all risky.

@idealsceneprod. You are right of some point but in some points I will not say that you are right but I will give my comments. ICO means Initial Coin Offering or some says ICO is a Initial Crypto Offering. Right now hundreds of ICO are flooding and make a massive advertising efforts but my advise is not at all will be successful. My criteria of good ICO are as follows;
ICO Company must be Transparent. The figure of ICO to be raised should be reflected in their website. Like KickICO they hide it and this is signal for scam if you hide something.
The Capability of the Programmers. Before making an ICO the programmers of the website which is making ICO should prepared and have contingencies plan to block all the hackers wants to steal the ICO money. Like KickICO, It's not good to tell the investors that your site is being hacked and will cause panick and lost of investors confidence.
Rate of Return of your Investment. The Program or Investment which ICO will go including the forecast of Rate of Return of all investment. Overboard ROR you need to evaluate. Because it might give overboard rate of return but the intention is to scam you.
The White Paper. This should be complete and all the schedule of the ICO plans should be reflected in white paper. Especially the allotment of ICO raised capital where this will go.
The Features Nodes of Coins. And also should be reflected what's the nodes capability of coins. These features must passed the digital crypto-currencies because there are a lot of scams out there raising money but in 2 to 3 years are not yet members of coinmarketcap which means there are virtual crypryto only and not real. Now TBC, OneCoin and Paycoin (See reference below) already more than 2 years but until now their nodes coins are not yet configured and program which means TBC, OneCoin, PayCoin are fake crypto currencies. So you need to look for coins nodes to get the capability of coins.
Who are the ICO Founder and Developers. It's very important to look on these organizational chart why? because maybe the founders and developers came from failed program before and scammed people. I will give example you example adscash and icoinmarket CEO and Founder Nick Johnson failed to succeed in Click Intensity and scammed 150,000 investors but now he is active in promoting Adscash and icoinmarket and many investors almost 500,000 members are joined which is hilarious and unbelievable the scammer himself Nick Johnson succeeded for the two programs Adscash and Icoinmarket and now they are now etherium program which you can withdraw only 100 adscash coins per week. I don't buy this program due to failed program handled by Nick Johnson.
Road Map. This map will show you all the forecast plan of the ICO company.
Price Forecast. This is very important because you will see your investment how it will reached in a certain period of time.
The speed of website and the store separate wallets has capable of 2FA google or authy authenticator. Investors can use friendly website and very safe security features to avoid hacker to interfere the website and your accounts.
