Phone BTC mining apps (scams or not?) Part 1
This is the first in a few tests I am running for fun. I expected this app to let me down, so I mined the least amount possible for a withdraw and tested it out. It is important to note that this app is an add watching app. This same phone mining for real would mine about 10-20 hashes, and in this app it is claiming to be mining about 3.5 KH/s. AMAZING RIGHT? It was fairly easy to get to the needed amount for a withdraw, but this app does run your battery down pretty quick, so most of the time I spent testing this app was when you are on a charger at home.
The app I tested this week is on google play store named "Bitcoin Miner Robot".

Here we can see I obtained the amount needed.
I attempted to withdraw and got this page:
My miner is now reset and looks like this
No deposit was made, and there are no options in the app to check or show that you even achieved the amount necessary for a withdraw in the first place. Clearly a scam, and now that I have proven it, you should avoid similar apps that have this same basic outlook. Soon to come I am testing a LTC mining app, and another version of a BTC app with a payment history option tab. I will also be bench testing some phones on MG and seeing how some phones can fair on a REAL mining app.

Very good article! Thanks! Friend of mine has had lot of probs using his mobile phone for mining. Finally his device was definitely off because of dead battery...
Thanks for the REAL mining app...
They're a few real ones. I was curious if any of the ad watching ones actually paid out.
That miner doesn't even look like a robot. He looks like a real boy.
