Scandinavia's biggest bank banned crypto money for its employees

in #bitcoin6 years ago

The question of whether unions will allow 'to ban crypto money' involving 31,500 employees is a matter of curiosity.

Nordea's largest bank in Scandinavia announced that it forbade crypto money investment and trade. With this prohibition, the company wants to prevent employees from unconsciously engaging in ethical and illegal events.

During the past week in Denmark, Nordea had been talking about imposing such a ban, but the bank's media chief said it was only rumor. A few days later, the bank accepted that such a ban, but said it was directed at employees who were only interested in large customers. On Monday, the company announced that the ban would apply to all 31,500 employees.

It is a decision that encourages employees to bribe all crypto money purchases and sales, especially Bitcoin. In an interview with Bloomberg, the European Banking Federation spokesman Raymond Frenken says that no bank has ever taken such a measure before, and that it may be another example of a bank in the future.

Danish Finance Federation President Kent Petersen told Danmarks Radio that employees are crossing the line that prevents them from having the crypto money.

Niels Mosegaard, an adviser to the DJØF union, argues that employees should not trade something illegal and adds: "Bitcoin is far from being illegal."

Nordea wants to implement the Bitcoin ban until February 28th. It is unclear how this attitude will be met by its employees and the rest of the world.
