Swiss Bunker Stores Millions of Dollars Worth of Bitcoin

Hello cryptomaniacs, I just read a story I thought was pretty cool and I wanted to share it with my friends here on Steemit.

Deep inside a Swiss mountain there's a bunker, complete with thick blast proof doors that's being used to store mega rich peoples possessions, including millions of dollars worth of bitcoin.

The company named Xapo stores digital currency inside of the main vault with its own crazy security measures that sounds like something out of a movie.

For starters the location is kept private but apparently the vault is built inside of a decommissioned military bunker carved into a mountain made of quartz.

Inside there's thick concrete walls where visitors are fingerprinted, retinal scanned, photographed and that's just phase one of the security measures!

The actual crypto vault, where customers private keys are stored is located inside of a 100 meter tunnel where ID cards are swiped to provide entrance, there's steel doors thick enough to withstand a nuclear blast and the whole area is protected inside a Farraday box that will keep electronics safe in the event of an EMP blast.

The entire unit is cooled to protect it from temperature swings and you're accompanied by an armed security guard the entire time.

Once inside the depths of the vault a guard waits while the customer signs into a computer that's not connected to the internet. On this they can retrieve a password that they then have to use inside another vault room that has another computer where they can request their keys.

The company says they assume they're under attack 24/7 so they take extra measures to guarantee the entire process is safe. Reading the article my jaw dropped at the level of security they use!
