Facebook ban on Bitcoin Ads not that effective.

Facebook Bans Bitcoin Ads.png

It seems savvy advertisers on the popular social network Facebook have found ways to circumvent their recent ban on all cryptocurrency ads. Facebook Inc. banned ads tied to cryptocurrencies, initial coin offerings (ICO) and binary options in January 2018, saying they were associated with misleading and deceptive practices. And to be honest, these claims are not exactly unfounded.

But advertisers have been using a loophole that is widely used in email marketing to bypass Facebook's add approval algorithm. What they are doing is a simple but effective hack where they replace letters with numbers. So for instance they would write the Bitcoin as Bitc0in, replacing the letter o with the number 0.

The scary thing is that this simple trick is actually beating the Facebook algorithm. It seems you still need human eyeballs at the end of the day, which Facebook has obviously realized, going on a recruiting spree.

So have a lookout when you are on Facebook next time. See if you spot any of these ads!

Honestly I now avoid Facebook completely!

Now that I am on Steemit and Discord this is the new way to do things. You can still read all about cryptos... from a blog by an individual.

But if I don't want to see one smidgeon of crypto anything then I change the tags I am looking for and bang... smooth smooth sailing! :D

its hard to do so we are still can see some crypto ads on the Facebook walls.

That is true. They only banned the Paid Ads, but anybody can still post whatever they want on their wall.

What Facebook might do though is downgrade the importance of the wall post so that very few of your followers actually see it. They already do it if you post a link that takes the person away from Facebook. They would rather have you pay for that.
