I thought the "idea" was to not have to "cash out". It is my understanding that the "true believers" envision a world where crypto will simply be "money". You would just use your crypto to buy what you want.

Or maybe the problem is "going legit". Couldn't they always simply buy contraband on the dark net and then sell that contraband for the true currency of criminals.....the US dollar?
