Bip 148

There is an upcoming event on August 1 2017. There seems to be a compromise in the bitcoin community. The problem is upgrading bitcoin network for it to be able to handle the growth in use of the network. There haven't been any absolute answers to solve the issue but quite a few half thought out suggestions. A Minor Activated Hard Fork, Minor Activated Soft Fork, User Activated Soft Fork, or a User Activated Hard Fork are the options on the table. The hardforks are splitting the coin. I feel this would be horrible for the community. Soft forks I feel are the way to go.

The Users are the most important part of every coin community. A hardfork is when you remove a consensus rule or alter a consensus rule to be less restrictive. A hard fork is extremely risky for it can erase the legacy blockchain. A soft fork would be like a share split. Both Legacy chain and Bip 148 have to be supported. Soon this will happen and everyone must prepare for whats going to come this upcoming August. UASF Guide . com is a good place to checkout to prepare for this. There will be turbulence. It'd be wise if everyone hold on!

War!, you say?

Isn't it Bitcoin Core has already won the war?

I want my cheap, insecure, fast, Bitcoin / Lightning Network, transactions.

"There will be turbulence. " – This.

Agree, Soft Fork is the way to go @gbonikz
Going to be holding on with everything I got!

agreed however didnt they agree to the segwit+2mb hardfork?

Did the miners that agreed to that agree to signal for Segregated Witness?, or did they just agree to activate it if it got 80% . . . but they are not promising to vote/signal for it themselves?

I believe the users are going to activate the soft fork and go from there. What has to be assured is that the legacy chain is not moderated or erased in the process.

Are you saying you think it most likely that the BIP148 "thing" "path" is going to be "what happens"?

Before a hard fork. Yes I believe this is what will happen.

Do you think the BIP148 movement will need many of the large businesses (like Coinbase.com, Bitfinex, Bitpay, and the like) on board in order to bring the miners along? Do you think some/many/most of the miners will come along without almost all the nodes and many/most of the "big businesses"?

I haven't heard enough yet to answer that one. Anything I do hear I will be writing about in the future. There should be much upcoming news related to the issue!

Thumbs up, up vote and a thank you to this.

usaf guide doesnt exist?

Typo on my part sorry. UASF Guide

Interesting in broad sense for the implications it will bring

Thank you for covering this as soon as it came to mainstream attention! More people need to know about it!

Bitcoin is to Crypto in 2017, what Yahoo was to the Internet in 2000...the front runner
If it doesn't adjust properly it will have the same fate when someone does it better e.g. Google
