BIP 148

Just a few days away from the implementation of BIP 148 some doubts are emerging regarding bitcoin's future.
Will a Bitcoin fork actually take place?. It's hard to know it yet because there is still time to avoid a fork.
What will happen to Bitcoin's price once BIP148 is activated?. If a fork would actually take place, then we can expect prices to fall for a while. But, in case there's no fork, then we can expect prices to stay some where near actual values before (in my opinion) going back up. Some people are even saying Bitcoin's price will sky rocket and that it will be worth over a houndred thousand dollars in a matter of just a few years.
I personally don't know if one Bitcoin will ever be worth that much. But what i do know, is that FIAT currencies will continue to loose value because of inflation due to central bank's policies of continuous emission of money in order to keep inyecting steroids into an economic system based in debt and that generates economic slaves.
Crypto currencies currently offer some kind of protection from central bank's generated inflation. Anyhow, i do not recommend you to put all of your savings into crypto currencies. Diversify your portfolio. Try buying silver and gold as well.
With BIP148 inminent application, be sure you store your bitcoins in a safe place and that you have control over your private keys. If you store your Bitcoin in an exchanger, then ask them if thay will support BIP148. Strategies for surviving this bumpy moment depend on either if you are a Bitcoin trader playing the short term game or if you are a Bitcoin holder playing the long term game.
With a current market cap of $41.188.283.946 dollars, Bitcoin is definitely here to stay. It doesn't matter if it forks or not because it has the potential of changing economics for ever. Even if it takes them 10, 20 or 50 years, blockchain based currencies are the future's money.
