According to information published by Carlos Vargas himself on June 20, the official has been dismissed as Superintendent of Cryptoactives and Related Activities and will return to occupy his seat in the National Constituent Assembly (ANC). Taking advantage of social networks, Vargas greeted Joselit Ramírez, informing that he will be responsible for taking the reins of the institution.

Vargas was appointed superintendent as of the creation of this government entity in December 2017. As explained in his account on the social network Twitter, the reason for this removal of the Superintendency is that he has been summoned to the ANC to defend the Petro " within the framework of the economic offensive undertaken by the Bolivarian Government ".

The former superintendent Vargas thanked the president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, for the opportunity to have served as head of the superintendence, extending his congratulations to the team that accompanied him in this task. In addition, he took the opportunity to congratulate Ramírez, who will be the new superintendent, according to a Vargas publication through Twitter.

Although there has not been an official confirmation, Vargas said goodbye to the institution and the position through this social network, although it should be noted that the removal of the position and the appointment of his successor will be formalized when an Official Gazette is published. this designation made this June 19. This day was also appointed Diosdado Cabello as president of the ANC and Calixto Ortega as president of the Central Bank of Venezuela (BCV).

If the appointment were confirmed, Ramírez would leave his position as General Director of the Vice Presidency of the Republic, a post for which he was appointed by Tareck El Aissami, one of the strong men of the South American country's government. Before Ramirez had served as secretary of the office and director of the Office of Attention to the Citizen of the governorship of Aragua, just when El Aissami was in charge of that magistrature.

CriptoNoticias tried to contact both officials to obtain their statements but did not receive a response until the publication of this note.

Recall that Maduro announced on December 3, 2017 the launch of an oil-backed cryptocurrency, in response to the "financial blockade". The Petro is designated by the acronym PTR and will have a maximum issue of 100 million chips backed by more than 5,300 million barrels of oil, located in the Ayacucho Block of the Orinoco Oil Belt.

On the 8th of the same month, in the heat of the Petro launch, the president of that country announced the creation of the Superintendence of Cryptoactives of Venezuela.

"A timetable is starting today for the Petro to be born together with the blockchain community around the world. And for that, on Monday, we will be officially installing the National Observatory of the Blockchain, which will be in charge of governing the main policies for the design of the cryptocurrencies, "the constitutionalist said at the time for Anzoátegui state.

However, the project seems to have entered a phase of pause, given that neither the Venezuelan government nor the authorities directly related to its development have given new news about its issuance, adoption or agreements for its exchange.
