Checking in on Decentraland (MANA)

Decentraland is one of my favorite crypto projects. It’s where virtual reality meets the blockchain.

For those unfamiliar Decentraland is a virtual reality platform powered by the Ethereum blockchain. Users can create, experience, and monetize their content and applications.

Decentraland is a project that did its ICO back in August 2017, raising 86,260 ETH worth $25 million at the time.

The way Decentraland works you use its native token MANA to buy LAND. LAND can be anything from a single parcel to multi-parcel estates.

Decentraland did its initial auction of properties in December 2017. And it looks like the second auction could happen soon.

But you don’t need to participate in an auction to buy a property. Simple go to the Decentraland Marketplace to see what’s for sale.

Ok, so what’s new recently?

First, Decentraland recently unveiled the LAND Estates feature. That’s where you can combine multiple parcels into one.

Second, we have some cool new visual tools from dclmap.com.

Third, we have Axie Infinity coming to Decentraland.

Axie Infinity is a collectibles game that allows users to breed, earn and trade Axies that are represented on the Ethereum (ETH) blockchain. These units feature different strengths and weaknesses based on four major stats: including HP, speed, skill and morale.

The game features a battle system that allows players to earn tokenized trophies and ETH rewards, in addition to a P2P marketplace that drives the game’s internal economy.

Finally, we just had the biggest sale ever on Decentraland.

A 126-parcel ESTATE went for 2,772,000 MANA, worth $215,200!
