Binance Enables Crypto Purchases with Credit Cards

in #bitcoin5 years ago

The last time I wrote about Binance it was entering Europe. That was earlier this month.

Binance Jersey went live.

With the launch of Binance’s EUR/GBP Fiat Exchange — Binance.je, (Binance Jersey) European clients will be able to perform fiat-to-crypto trading of the euro (EUR) and British pound (GBP) with Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH) on the platform.

Today news came out that Binance users can now pay for crypto with credit cards.

Binance has partnered with Israel-based payments processing firm Simplex to enable purchases with Visa and MasterCard credit cards.

To start you’ll be able to purchase BTC, ETH, LTC, and XRP with your credit card.

Said CEO Changpeng Zhao:

Building fiat gateways is what we need now to grow the ecosystem, increase adoption and introduce crypto to more users.

Not all countries are eligible, such as Iraq, Cuba, Afghanistan, and Libya.

In the US all states are supported except New York, Connecticut, Hawaii, Georgia, New Mexico and Washington.

According to the press release the fee is 3.5% of the transaction with a $10 minimum.

A bit expensive, but convenient if you have no cash on hand.

3.5% - it's too high fee.
