Another Reason to Buy Bitcoin

in #bitcoin5 years ago

Most people here probably don’t need another reason to buy bitcoin.

But just in case, today I’ll talk about its value as a non-sovereign currency.

Meaning, why it’s important that bitcoin isn’t controlled by any government or centralized entity.

News came out yesterday that Italy’s government may tax cash and other valuables locked away in safety deposit boxes held with banks.

That came from Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini.

Wow, what gall of the Italian government. They basically want a hand right in your pocket.

The bigger picture is that the Eurozone is a fragile experiment to begin with. And the Euro may not be as fungible as people expect.

Tuur Demeester of Adamant Capital makes that point below.

Wow, can you imagine if that happened? Pure chaos.

And yet another reason to buy bitcoin.

We dont have to go too far in the history to see similar cases. It was illegal to own gold till 1974 and when that law was passed on 1933 , all the gold was supposed to voluntarily taken to Federal Reserve. In case you were still holding it, it was up to $10K fine or even up to 5 yrs in prison. Now same thing is happening with pension plans in different countries in EU where the money is just taken by the government and system "restructured" to cover the massive holes in the budget (caused by poor money management). So what im trying to say that governments dont change until system fundamentally changes.
