Quick Crypto Round Up - Episode 4 (I Think) - Mortages To Buy Bitcoin?
Lots of stuff happening in the Crypto world (as per usual), so it's time for another episode of Quick Crypto Roundup!
First we start with a question:
Would You Take Out A Mortage To Buy Bitcoin?
According to this article from news.bitcoin.com, people are doing just that!
I remember reading about the family who sold their house and put the money into bitcoin earlier in the year, a plan that was criticized on Reddit at the time, but seems to be working very well for them. But taking out a mortage to buy it? That doesn't too clever to me.
I'm very bullish on Bitcoin and the crypto market, but going into debt to finance a crypto purchase sounds like an accident waiting to happen.
I just hope it works out for those who do!
Speaking of things that can go wrong...
Beware Fake Wallet Apps!
Coin Telegraph says that a fake My Ether Wallet app is being downloaded on the Apple App Store. It has been downloaded so many times in fact, that it has become a top 3 app in the finance category!
Be VERY Careful When Downloading Any App To Your Phone!
Australian Stock Exchanges Goes Blockchain
In a world first, the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) is set to become the first stock exchange to move onto a blockchain based system.
According to this article from Coin Telegraph, the move is expected to happen in March of next year. The article also states:
The introduction of this technology in clearing and settling will cut the cost of transactions, making them faster and more secure. It also eliminates the need for a middleman, which traditional banks rely upon. So much so, that Wall Street bank, Goldman Sachs believes that using distributed ledgers in stock trading could help the industry save $6 billion annually on a global basis.
