Bitcoin's scaling agreement has been met by companies owning 83% of the hashing power
Right after bitcoin pizza day, it looks like we have some good news to share, as bitcoin's scaling debate might finally, once and for all, be over. According to a post on Medium, it looks like a total of 56 companies located in 21 countries, with a total of 83.28% of the network’s hashing power have reached an agreement.
The upgrade will be as stated:
All of the companies who agreed upon the scaling solution have also committed themselves to provide support to other companies who will inevitably need to upgrade their software. Among these 56 companies are BitPay, Bitmain, Bitcoin.com, BTCC, Circle, Coinbase Xapo, F2Pool and many others.
Notably, an executive at Xapo, and member of PayPal’s board, that one bitcoin could be worth $1 million in 5-10 years. Keep in mind: there aren’t enough bitcoins for every millionaire there is today to hold one single coin, so this is a huge possibility!
