With some help from math technology and a community of enthusiasts that's how it's done.
The currency runs with neither banks or borders and that is what makes it so interesting.

Invented in 2008 by an anonymous person or group that goes by the name the Satoshi Makamoto Bitcoin is a currency that exist only as lines of code.

Uses exchange regular currency to buy bitcoins which gets stored in a wallet or digital account and then becomes available for use.

Interestingly only 21 million bitcoins will be released over time currently 15.894 million are in circulation and new ones are slowly released through an effort called mining, this is done slowly to protect its value.

One bitcoin is worth around 600 dollars today that can be split into smaller portions so there is quite enough to go around to save or to spend.

Like regular money bitcoins get circulated when you use them to - buy e-vouchers, spend on vacation, Pay phone bills or TV bills. Transfer money internationally or just pay for your pizza. Recently also learnt that Virgin Airlines as well as Uber is now accepting Bitcoin.

Bitcoin that you spend your digital money security keeping your identity private even though the transaction itself is publicly verified. This means you can transfer currency across the world or back home without going to a bank.

The money is transferred in minutes without middlemen leaks or bank transfer fees which can be quite expensive.
Each Bitcoin has its own unique code and is created by a process called mining. This process is part game, part race and part lottery. Shared servers race to solve billions of calculations per second and winners called - miners - get rewarded in bitcoins.

Every time a unit of a bitcoin is used the same servers around the world take note, recording the transaction in a public ledger for the record and in so doing preventing double spending.
