Bithumb: The 4th Largest Cryptocurrency Exchange Hacked!!!

in #bitcoin7 years ago

The Fourth largest bitcoin and ether exchange in the world and the largest bitcoin and ether exchange in South Korea by volume was hacked last week. The hackers succeeded in getting the personal information of more than 31,000 users (approx. 3% of users of Bithumb), which including their names, mobile phone numbers and email addresses.

More than 100 Bithumb customers have since filed complaints with the Police Agency's of cyber crime. These kinds of attacks can be discouraging and seem completely out of our control. The lesson remains the same: NEVER NEVER give up your information unless you are absolutely sure who you are talking to, and never give anyone your credentials.
