So What is Decentralized applications, before going to Decentralized let's just understand about Centralized applications first. Centralized Apps are cuurently the most wide spreaded model for software applications,centralized systems directly control the operations of the individual units and flow of information from a single center .As individuals are directly dependent on the central power to send and receive info.Facebook , amazon,google and every other mainstream service we use on internet uses this model.
Now comming back to Dapps . Dapps are applications that are peer to peer networks of computers rather than a central server.The users connect to each other directly.

The Major reasons Why You should build Dapps are:

1. You Would Own Your Data:-
   Entire Web has become totally centralized, which means a bunch of Apps owns all of our data..All of our texts,images,videos . Take whatsapp for instance.Whatsapp was aquired by facebook for 22 Billion dollars, when it only had 35 engineers.35 engineers owned 500mil users data that they owned and profited from.Profit that those 500 mil users shouldn't gotten a little share of, but didn't. In a decentralized app, You would maintan ownership of your data .People would pay each other for your data instead of one group profitting off all of it.Your data is your most valuable asset in the new data economy.

2. Increased Data Reliability:-
   In a centralized app, all data is stored in a single central sever.If that server gets shutdown,the data is lost forever.so if you uploaded a really precious photo to dropbox and if dropbox got hacked, which has happend before, that photo is gone, where in a decentralized app since there is no central point of failure , you could either choose to store your data securely yourself or have your data replicated across many different clients. It moves us to a permanent web . A web where links never dies.

3. Faster Data Transfer:-
   We are now moving to a new era of data transfer , soon we're gonna be sending huge files across the web. I'm talking about petabytes.Centralized apps only allow you to retrieve data from one central server. which can take forever to download. Especially if it is across the world.In a Dapp , if you wanna load a webiste, instead o f your computer requesting from a server across the world, it'll find the request copy .May be that random Bruh! sitting next to you in physics has it on his laptop and your computer would retrieve it from there directly.

4. It Couldn't Be Shutdown:-
   Centralization means Governments can block a website from reaching users in its country for whatever the reason is . The chinese government has easily blocked facebook from its citizens that's 20% of the global population . Recently the Ezyptian government easily shut off the internet to stop people from protesting . Isn't that crazy?? and if datacenter goes down or an ISP has an outage, You're out of luck. A decentralized app could never be shutdown by anyone.Even if a government shuts down, Internet acess during protests, people would still communicate with each other offline . In their Local Area Network (LAN) by connecting each others directly.

5. Wild West Of Software:-
   We've barely begun to unlock the potential of the decentalized technologies like Bit Torrent an Bitcoin. The first people to make the Successful Dapps will rememberd forever and wil provide huge amount of value to the world.
