The World of Cryptocurrency - BTC Courses

Millenials were becoming more interested in cryptocurrency and they were very eager to take part of the exciting roller coaster ride of bitcoin. In fact, colleges and universities were creating a course inline with cryptocurrency and the technology behind it - the blockchain. Many people nowadays find themselves curious about this talk-of-the-town digital currency wherein they can trade and invest their hard-earned money and some of them found fortune out of their small investment.

After 9 years since bitcoin was created last 2009, it is now in global scale and even colleges and universities were offering courses on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. As per the last year's stat, there are about 5% of world's population who are into cryptocurrency. It is just a fraction of people who engaged in bitcoin and other cryptocurrency but through this initiative that the best universities we have were offering courses about cryptocurrency, surely it will help spread the news and educate people on this latest technology about digital currency.

Below is the list of top colleges and universities that offered courses on cryptocurrency and blockchain technology:

1. New York University (NYU) - it started offering blockchain classes way back in 2014 and the first course they offered was Law and Business of Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies.

This new course, to be offered jointly by NYU’s Law School and Stern School, will study Bitcoin and other alternative payment mechanisms. Interest in this topic has exploded over the past five years, as Bitcoin and an increasing pool of competitors have risen in value and gained acceptance as payment devices.

2. Duke University - in the spring of 2015 semester, the school offered blockchain classes called *Innovation and Cryptoventures. The class was scheduled every Monday for their undergraduate students and this is run by the selected group of students, professionals, and professors. There seminars and lectures were cost free.

This is not simply a course exploring transactions in bitcoin. The idea of the course is to understand a disruptive technology and to assess its implications on how business is conducted in the future. Much of our focus is on the network behind bitcoin and the many ventures that have already begun to capitalize this innovation.

3. Princeton University - it is an online course and its pioneered class was Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency Technologies. It aimed to educate its students regarding about bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.

After this course, you’ll know everything you need to be able to separate fact from fiction when reading claims about Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. You’ll have the conceptual foundations you need to engineer secure software that interacts with the Bitcoin network. And you’ll be able to integrate ideas from Bitcoin in your own projects.

4. Stanford University - the California-based University offers a course on bitcoin and blockchain technology which is free of cost. The course that they offered was called Bitcoin Engineering and it aimed to teach the students on how to make bitcoin-enabled applications, and the like.

The first two weeks of the course will provide a fast-paced introduction to Bitcoin and Bitcoin-enabled computing.
In subsequent weeks, you will build Bitcoin-powered versions of several popular Internet services, previewing a future where services are paid for not by ads or monthly fees but by per-use micropayments. There will be two weeks of open time for you to build interesting Bitcoin projects (the weeks of 1/18 and 2/15). In other weeks, we will provide you with stub code illustrating the basic mechanics of a Bitcoin-powered Internet service. You, as an individual or as part of a small group, will have a week to get the stub code running, add your own improvements, and test it with your peers in an online marketplace.

5. University of Cumbria - it is based in the UK and it accepts bitcoin as a mode of payment of the new two classes that are linked to the study of cryptocurrencies and complementary currencies.

In a press release announcing the move, the university claimed that it is the world's first public university to accept bitcoin for tuition fees. It also noted that it is the first British university and the first business school to do so.

This is good. More and more universities are seeing the potential of blockchain technology and crypto. More and more courses will be added and that will result in a wider public acceptance for cryptos which is aweseme.

Excellent initiative has been taken. I welcome this initiative. If all types of currencies are banned in our country, then they will be able to get such services.

Where I live there aren't a lot of people who know about crypto..
But the number is growing day by day
