In a Coinbase statement informs the community about its future support of Bitcoin cash:

"At first we made it clear to our customers that the ability to support Bitcoin cash since its launch was unwise. For users who wanted immediate access to their BCH, we advise them to withdraw their funds from the platform. However, there are several points we would like to clarify:

Both Bitcoin and BCH are kept stored in Coinbase.
Customers with Bitcoin balances at the time of the fork now have an equal amount of BCH in Coinbase.
We work under the principle that our customers should benefit to a greater extent possible from bifurcations or other unexpected events.
in the last few days we have examined the situation with depth and come to the conclusion that we will work on the addition of bitcoin cash. We take this stance as a function of factors such as network security, customer demand, operating volumes and regulatory guidelines. Our plan is to provide support to BCH before January 1, 2018, assuming that there are no additional risks in that time period.

Once on the platform, customers will be able to withdraw their bitcoin cash; In the meantime, the money remains securely stored"
