Coincheck To Reimburse Hacked Users "By The End Of Next Week"

in #bitcoin8 years ago

In a press release reported by Cointelegraph Japan, Coincheck, the Japanese exchange which was hacked a few weeks ago, announced it will reimburse all users affected by the loss of funds "by the end of next week", a time at which it also expects to restart trading.

The hack left Coincheck without more than $500 million in NEM, coming from more than 260,000 users' wallets. Payback will not be in NEM, but in Yen, which is something very interesting and certainly a different narrative from the MtGoxx ghosts which are still flooding the markets with seized tokens.

The hack made Japanese authorities to launch a series of investigations, stopping more than 15 exchanges from trading, while other are waiting licenses or still being audited.

It's a sad news from Coincheck, which loses half a billion dollar in Yen, but a very good news for the market.

The recent SEC FUD, combined with the delayed MtGoxxing in the form of a $400 million worth of Bitcoin dumped silently, sent markets drastically in red.

They must to Reimburse Hacked Users it's their responsibility to save on the users coins
They must to do it and must to do it fast

The reimbursement is really great, shows the company is committed to her customers this would go a long way to boost their confidence

"announced it will reimburse all users affected by the loss of funds "by the end of next week""

That's good to hear. I was expecting "too bad, so sad" to be the response. That's good customer service!

Thanks for your great info. I already have checked your website and approved for withness. Steem.supply calculate is very useful for all of us
Thanks for your hard work.

This seems to be a good start for cryptos at least in Japan. The authorities are considering NEM as an asset and is taking appropriate measure to protect investors. Similar to what governments due to protect bank frauds.

At least people are getting their money back. Makes the company look more professional and less like bitconnect.

Amazing Idea of the post

This is a very good gesture. Commendable. This is the trait of a company that is serious with business and whose major concern is customer satisfaction. Good one.

The maturity that is shown by the company to give money back to the people who suffered because of it is great. Anyways surely it will help the market so good days are coming back and are coming soon.

The recent SEC FUD, combined with the delayed MtGoxxing in the form of a $400 million worth of Bitcoin dumped silently, sent markets drastically in red.

Mehn the effect of this was really bad for the market.

I am happy you finally bring good news to us. I hope that by next week, when they begin trading, things will go back to normal and even better...can't wait .
