in #bitcoin7 years ago

In a tweet posted a few hours ago, Binance CEO announced that all unauthorized transactions have been reversed.

In another tweet, he also showed what exactly happened: there was a phishing attempt from a site which replaced the letters "i" and "a" from the binance domain name with variants having a dot below them. It was really difficult to spot the phishing site. Here's the screenshot from the tweet:

According to the same source, hackers lost funds in this attempt. All extra will be donated to Binance Charity.

Stay safe!

Maybe this will help raise the mArkets price back up a bit

Binance has handled this situation in a very professional way.... They have gained even more trust now...Need to be careful with phishing sites...

Those are great news for many people i really hope we will not see cases like is in the future

Hackers are always looking for ways to exploit people's innocence and sometimes carelessness. I enjoin us to me more careful and take precautions before visiting any site

Nice to see binance have got their act together and quickly resolved the issue, they had people spooked last month when they closed for inscheduled maintenance!! Gets me wondering whether this was all related, or just purely phising from auto trading or bots??!!

Hard to believe that Binance CEO doesn't have another transaction display procedure than to rely on a photo of a display from a user :)
Kinda like when everyone was investing in Cardano and it was no.1 gainer and they were making webcasts from a small room and were happy enough to have 20 people attending :)
I don't want to think this is Binance and that the hackers that turn the market upside down are just script kiddies ( like the ones making rootkits in the iRC era).
But hey, at least it got solved! Thanks for reporting, the first good news today!

I think he wanted to "keep it real" and not use some "official" image. As for Cardano and the difference between hype and reality, welcome to the cryptoland :)

Oh really good news it has recovered. Thank you for your update information.

That's a relief. This is probably the best handling of an exchange incident I have seen so far!

Really you are giving a very good news sharing with us, thank you D:) @dragosroua for this post

Great of binance that they handled it quite well... And the hackers are caught bad... Nice work...
