RE: Bitcoin Holds Steady Over $10000 CAD a Coin..! (Wow!)

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Ha, good post, Shahriarjoy,

I too noted bitcoin at $10,253 CAD on the weekend. While the (respected and valuable) YouTube commentators were droning on and on about what it would take to get Btc over $10,000 and how much new money had to come into the market to get over the hump, how long it might take, whether or not there would be pullback, etc., etc., I quietly pointed out we were already there in Canada. $10,000 is no barrier, just a (significant) number in people's heads. If $8000, why not $10,000? If Btc is going to be anywhere near the $27,395 USD, a number predicted by some for February, well, it had better get past $10,000 pretty darn quick.

When Btc crosses $10,000 USD, the value will be $12,730 CAD. Not sure what that is in Zimbabwean $16,000? It's 492999.12 Russian Rubles. Despite the fixation on $10,000 USD, it's a world market, think local.

It was very instructive to watch Bitcoin Cash last week. When the fork for SegWit2 (or whatever it was called) was cancelled, it seemed some people were going to make money no matter what. Pure manipulation drove the price up to $3400 CAD. Just as I was about to put some more in, the price took a nose dive around midnight MST! What? Instead I sold at $2800 (couldn't move fast enough, everything got r e a l s l o w e d d o w n and the exchange wouldn't update. But I finally got out, sold everything into cash and just sat back. When the entire crypto universe didn't implode into a black hole, I bought back in, but only Btc. Still waiting.

Heh, bought some for my mom too.

Flying Lamborghinis or cardboard indeed. Keep your stick on the ice buddy.
