Bitcoin Fees!! WTF?????

in #bitcoin7 years ago

What're you complaining about now?

As if we didn't know this already, the transaction fees are too damn high!!!

Now I'm sure there's some rich SOB out there sending tens of thous, hundreds of thous and maybe Millions across the network, so the fees may seem relatively high. I'm not in that league. So when i send $50 and it's costing $8 to send, $150 and its fee's $7.5, or $90 for $8.50 in fees....... sorry but that's not cool.

If i were sending from a wallet, it'd be bad and not so bad... but when it's from one exchange to another with no way to choose the fee i feel cheated.

I remember sending BTC recently from an exchange and i decided to lower the fees to around $2.5, that transaction took days to go through after being pushed at least 3 times.

Elephant in the room

>_> we should've gone with Bitcoin Cash at least in the short term.

Maybe you should've sent the transaction with Bcash.... if the exchange supported it i probably would've.

F.U.D.

IF and when the Lightning network gets implemented "people" claim it'll lower the fees and the cryptosphere will be a better place... i think the fees are still gonna be high AF. Prioritizing transactions, based on fees was Bitcoin's biggest mistake.

Possible Solution

Changing the reward system for mining. That's all i have right now :-|
But having dynamic fees is crap. checking https://bitcoinfees.21.co to calculate the lowest cost/ time is also crap.
One minute the fees are low and next they're through the roof.

BTC in a Bubble?

I never wanted to believe that... but ....... #thatAwkwardMoment when you start checking your transaction history to see where your money went, if you were robbed, sent money to the wrong account, etc. yeah i think this ride is going in the wrong direction and i'm about to get off.

In other news

With Litecoin, DASH, etc on the rise i can see a #flippening on the horizon. My prediction, Litecoin to at least $350, DASH to $1000 in the coming months. Maybe there's something waiting for ETH too.

Sort:

Forget about BTC, that was the steam engine.
We now have a gas engine: DASH.
And the future may bring a turbine....

BTW if you are looking for small fees, look at DOGE...
And erhm.... STEEM has no fees. That is right; NO FEES!

(look up Roger Ver on youtube...)

DASH Lower fees and faster transactions / IOTA and STEEM NO FEES!

I hear more and more about the high transaction fees in bitcoin. Being new to bitcoin, I can count the number of transactions I've made with one hand.

Yet to explore more in depth the transaction fees in ETH, but I think now there's more potential in other cryptos for transactions.

Trust me there is more potential elsewhere, ETH fees are relatively low.... generally less than $0.50 but every now and again their network gets bogged down
