Bitcoin is less than 10 billion dollars away from surpassing the market capitalization of Citigroup. Bitcoin price this year has been smashing estimates and expectation already surpassing the golden 10,000 USD per coin with no signs of slowing down. At the time of writing 1 Bitcoin is currently price at $11,134.40 USD according to coinmarketcap.

Analyst are constantly revising their estimates upwards with some speculating that Bitcoin 20K by Christmas is possible. With stats backing Bitcoin and parabolic price action its only a matter of time before Bitcoin market capitalization surpasses Citigroup. At the time of writing Citigroup market capitalization currently stands at 194.86 billion.

Citigroup is a WallStreet tycoon doing business in more than 100 countries and jurisdiction ranging from investment banking and other financial services. Nonetheless, Bitcoin rise in 2017 has seen it surpass the market capitalization of big names like Goldman Sachs and Morgan Stanley.

Probably a bigger question one can ask now, "whether its prudent to leave your money in these banks offering less than 0.5% on savings, while Bitcoin has return +1402.83% this year?"

With Bitcoin current price action, its only a matter of time before it surpasses Citigroup and I believe an entertaining prospects with JPMorgan in sight currently enjoying a market capitalization of 351.69 billion USD offering 0.5% on saving. I wonder what Jamie Dimon tone would be?
