Cryptocurrency & 'Exchanges'

in #bitcoin7 years ago

So bitcoin and other forms of cryptocurrency have been around for a while now. The Bitcoin Whitepaper explicitly states the whole purpose of his idea was to remove the need for a middleman when two people exchange money / value digitally. Yet we are still using 3rd party exchanges to move our money around. Services like @Changelly and Shapeshift are getting closer to automating the process, but it's still not quite as decentralized as Satoshi would have anticipated.

How close are we to achieving a true Peer to Peer decentralized markets? Is it even possible or is it a libertarian pipe dream? Although only Skuld knows for sure, I tend to think we'll get there but it will take some more time before the concept and an understanding of why it's so important are accepted into mainstream consciousness.

Best of luck to all you fellow human's out there surfing this wave of digital genius into the future.

Yes, I can't wait for the middle man fees to be cut out. $50 for a transaction is almost as bad as money gram . I'm not sure how it will be done. Maybe like email server, but the miners need to verify the blockchain or something like that. I dunno, how soon it will come to pass. But the sooner the better

Its a growing pain but it will eventually happen if mass adoption occurs.
