With ample funds, the IOTA team has been rapidly expanding their dev team with a haul of talented individuals. Regular blog posts on Medium. Active Github.
Community:
IOTA has certainly carved out a niche in the crypto space and has built up an evangelical, almost cult like following on the internet. They have plenty of coverage in the alternative media and generally appeal greatly to the younger audience. Highly active Slack channel.
Valuation:
IOTA has a Google-esque modern tech company feel about it. If they keep developing and expanding at the pace they are going, it seems entirely reasonable that IOTA could be worth, say $10 Billion in 3 years time as they continue to expand their corporate partners. This values 1 MIOTA around $3.5 whilst it currently trades at $0.54.
Conclusion:
Although I am wary of such new and unproven technology, given possible security and scaling issues, I think it would be unwise to rule out IOTA as a big player in the IOT space.
Allocation:
IOTA is considered high risk and for good reason, but certainly 2% portfolio is prudent given the upside potential.
