Why has Bitcoin succeeded?
Everyone wants to build a better blockchain currency. No one does. Why not?
The reason is simple. Satoshi was brilliant. He built bitcoin on a blockchain, gave it to the world, and walked away. No one could ever say "well, its centralized around you". Satoshi didn't build a team around it and step away giving it to his team. He built it, posted it on open source networks and left. Name one other project like it except perhaps linux. There are none. The core developers always maintain control. Sure a CEO may step away, but the team is still in control of what its future holds.
These alternatives to blockchain currency, are a fail in comparison. They offer centralized solutions and controlled distributions. PoS doesn't exist unless someone distributes the staking currency or the PoS is built off PoW. These alternatives to blockchain, use centralization techniques like sharding, private permission based solutions, and teams that make the rules and if you don't like it to bad. Satoshi made currency that if you didn't like, you could fork. No one truly controlled it. No centralization for stability. No alternative banks. He simply gave it away and walked away.
Name me any other currency that has done that?
That's exactly why bitcoin is widely regarded as a store of value.
