There will be panic sellers and weak hands exiting the market. All we need to remember is "Price is what you pay, value is what you get". In a few years we will all probably be saying "I wish I put more in during the dips in 2017"...
The price will probably drop more until we see what happens on August 1st so if you would like to reposition your investments it might not be a bad idea to cash out now and repurchase later.
Yeah, I guess we will see. Am I right in believing that if the new soft fork is accepted, there may be a faster transaction speed?
SegWit activation will mostly just lower transaction fee's when it is first implemented. It does however pave the way for the lightning network (payment channels) which will drastically speed up transactions.
