Bitcoin 2X back on again??? What the hell is happening?

It was announced around 12 hours ago on their website that the bitcoin hard fork would indeed be BACK ON.
However, this is incredibly uncertain right now. Many suggest that the whole bitcoin2x was just a ruse to manipulate the market for whales to make money on buying/selling futures and alts.

One thing that a redditor has pointed out is that a date was set, rather than a block height, thus suggesting its illegitimacy.

One thing we're confident (not certain) about is that the message does come from officials (of some level), perhaps even Mike Belshe, Wences Casares, Jihan Wu, Jeff Garzik, Peter Smith or Erik Voorhees, the "6 individuals" who "controlled the destiny of bitcoin". This is likely because the message is posted on their site, which has been a means of communication for a while.

Whatever this is, it's making a dent in the certainty of cryptocurrency and I hurting crypto's road to mass adoption. Myself, like many others just pray for this to soon be all over!
