Bitcoin transaction times at new highs

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

The last couple of days there has been a rising demand for Bitcoin, which has sent the confirmation times to new heights. Yesterday the average confirmation time was 1.105 minutes. However today has seen a dip to 458 minutes.

It seems that the miners are having trouble keeping up with the rising demand, since the total number of unconfirmed transactions keeps rising as well.

I’m currently waiting for a Bitcoin transaction to go through, and it’s been 36 hours since I transferred them from my Blockchain wallet. I really hope that these issues will be fixed soon, either by the Bitcoin Core developers or by someone else.

What are your thoughts, and have you experienced something similar?

My most recent transaction took about 5 hours. That was the longest timeframe since we first began having problems a few months ago.

That's a lot of waiting if you ask me. Before this, my longest wait was about 45 minutes. I guess I've had a lucky streak up til now then. Thanks for the input hilarsky.
