It appears that the bitcoin market crash has recovered and stabilized at approx 60% of its highest value.
When the price rebounded from its low after the last bitcoin futures maturization, This also made the alt coin rise again in value.

The current bitcoin prices reflect fear and uneasiness in market.
The crashing bitcoin prices were caused by a massive sell off of bitcoin.
As more people get scared and or are not veteran investors, they in turn sold their bitcoin during the fall instead holding on and waiting for the rebound on bitcoins price.
Other factors in bitcoin pricing is the massive sale off of bitcoin by crypto whales.
Bitcoin shorting on the futures market and another reason is also
During the New Year Asians typically sell crypto to buy gifts.

As we have another bitcoin futures maturation date approaching on january 26th , I imagine that prices will take a dive again before rebounding.

With advent of the bitcoin futures they've managed to stop bitcoins rapid increase in value and have even made its price decrease and become unstable. In effect they've made bitcoin into a such a volatile currency that it can now be day traded as any other commodity or currency can.
