Bitcoin's value is based on its scarcity and market sentiments. It is not money but it is being used as a store of value. However, it is not like gold or silver which we can see and touch. Gold and silver are in use from the dawn of the civilization. I think Bitcoin will lose everything in near future (as I have explained it in this article).
